Terms of Use

1. About Hygea

Hygea is a technology platform. Hygea is not a cleaning company and does not employ cleaning professionals. Service Providers using the Hygea platform are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Hygea.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, book a service, or register as a Service Provider on Hygea.

3. Customer Responsibilities

• Provide accurate property and contact details when booking
• Be available or provide access arrangements for the scheduled service
• Pay for services through the platform's secure payment system
• Treat Service Providers with respect and provide a safe working environment

4. Service Provider Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information, including identity verification and police checks where required
• Perform services professionally and to a reasonable standard
• Honour confirmed bookings and provide reasonable notice for cancellations
• Comply with all applicable Australian laws, including tax and insurance obligations

5. Payments

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Funds are held by Hygea for a 3-day protection period after service completion before being released to the Service Provider, to allow customers to confirm satisfaction. Hygea may charge a platform service fee, which will be disclosed at the time of booking.

6. Cancellations

Cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled service may incur a cancellation fee, payable by the cancelling party, to protect the time and income of the other party.

7. Ratings & Reviews

Customers may rate and review Service Providers after each completed job. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. Hygea reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

Hygea acts solely as a technology platform facilitating connections between customers and independent Service Providers. Hygea is not liable for the quality, safety, or outcome of services performed by Service Providers, except where required by Australian Consumer Law. Service Providers are independently responsible for their own insurance and liability coverage.

9. Account Suspension

Hygea reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or receive consistently poor ratings.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and technology on the Hygea platform are the property of Hygea Australia Home Service and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Victorian courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

Hygea may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
